It all started on a beautiful sunny day.
Once upon a time I was a biker and I loved riding on sunny days.
Once upon a time I crossed the path of a man who didn't care, who didn't look. And He changed my life, forever.
I spent the first year of my new life hidden deep inside me, in my delusional reality filled by visual and auditory hallucinations. Each minute of each hour, days and nights I lived with the sensation of Impending Death. Some called it PTSD, I called it my reality.
I spent the first year of my new life in my injured and weakened body that I watched becoming over-weight and unfit but did it mattered?
Until the voices of my husband, children, GP, physiotherapist, nurses, friends, and psychiatrists reached me, like a distant call, a call for life. The last five month of the first year of my new life I went through the eye movement desensitization and reprocessing therapy.

The first day of the second year of my new life, I listened to music, opened a book, and didn't cry.
The first night of the second year of my new life, I slept, and slept, and slept. The days and weeks passed, calm and slow until I crossed the path of a friend, not any friend, a nia teacher. She invited me to her class; I trusted her so I went. She created a safe space for me, a space where I could heal, a space where I could move and not hide that fattened and heavy body. Class after class, She cared for me and took me on the path of nia . I danced with old friends and new friends. Class after class, my body felt lighter and I was filled with joy and energy.
One year after my first hesitant step in, I received my White Belt after a week of intense training with two amazing trainers, Britta von Tagen and Letizia Accinelli, seven sisters (in no particular order: Ieva, Meg, Angela, Polly, Erica, Ruth and Denise), and Karen without whom the week would not have been so smooth, full of smiles and laughs. It was a week filled with emotions, love and peace.
Once upon a time I crossed the path of a man, I found my life calling, and it all started on that beautiful day.
